![]() ![]() You may often wake up tired, even when you have had plenty of sleep. Poor sleep qualityįibromyalgia can affect your sleep. If this happens, you may feel too tired to do anything at all. Severe tiredness (fatigue) may come on suddenly and can drain you of all your energy. This can range from feeling mildly tired to the exhaustion often felt during a flu-like illness. The stiffness may be most severe when you have been in the same position for a long period of time – for example, when you first wake up in the morning. Stiffnessįibromyalgia can make you feel stiff. You may also be sensitive to things like smoke, certain foods and bright lights.īeing exposed to something you're sensitive to can cause your other fibromyalgia symptoms to flare up. allodynia – when you feel pain from something that should not be painful at all, such as a very light touch.hyperalgesia – when you're extremely sensitive to pain. You may hear the condition described in the following medical terms: If you hurt yourself, such as stubbing your toe, the pain may continue for much longer than it normally would. The pain is likely to be continuous, although it may be better or more severe at different times.įibromyalgia can make you extremely sensitive to pain all over your body, and you may find that even the slightest touch is painful. This may be felt throughout your body, but could be worse in particular areas, such as your back or neck. If you have fibromyalgia, one of the main symptoms is likely to be widespread pain. Treatment is available to ease some of the symptoms, although it's unlikely they'll ever disappear completely. See a GP if you think you have fibromyalgia. There may be periods when your symptoms get better or worse, depending on factors such as: I have had a horribly stressful weekend, had some horrid palpitations, a full on panic attack and felt physically sick.Fibromyalgia has many symptoms that tend to vary from person to person. When i was rigged up for it, the nurse said "these are a miracle cure you know - when the results come back as nothing serious, people tend to stop having (or noticing) the palpitations". I of course thought i was going to die, i had to have a 24 ecg trace. I had palpitations about a year before DD was born. I know a woman who managed her PND herself with good diet, St Johns wort (check about this though - i think it can give you tingling sensations - incidentally, do you take any B vitamins?) The thing with anxiety is it can be self perpetuating. You don't have to have drugs, indeed for some people these are counterproductive. But i think it is good to recognise that you could have PND and ask for some counselling maybe? To give you strategies to cope with all the unwanted thoughts. I am still on ADs and would rather not be (two years now). You don't have to go down the medication route, i had long term issues with anxiety but the PND made it worse. It wasn't as a result of hyperventilating, it was either all the time, or it came and went - had it in my hands (put that down to RSI), face and legs. Seems strange to think that nature has designed us to suffer this at the time when we need all our strength. One GP I spoke to said he thought that all mothers experienced PND to some degree - it was not whether you had it, but how severely, and this obviously impacts on physical health too. I recognise that I am depressed but not enough to want to go down the medication road. ![]() LucyEllensmummy - when you say anxiety gave you tingling, was it as a result of hyperventilating, or did it come on when you were breathing normally? I know how awful it is and how it seems very physical at the time, but these symptoms seem different. I have suffered badly from anxiety in the past, but not for around 7 years. He also said it was highly unlikely that MS would present symetrically like this. Symptoms have got worse today - lots of tingling all over like needles, but I'm happier after seeing doc. Doctor says this can be a cause of these symptoms, so next stage is to take iron supplements and see if there is any improvement over next two to three weeks. I am not on the pill either, but then, I'm sure there are a lot of powerful hormones involved in the breastfeeding process which could be playing a part.Īlso - had the results of a bloodtest back and my iron is low. ![]() I am so grateful to everyone for replying. ![]()
